The name “Socio” means companion or partner, which shows our belief that cocktails are best enjoyed together with good company.

Inspired by Asia-Pacific Flavours

Our cocktails are inspired by Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region. We use local and special ingredients and simple regional techniques to create modern drinks that feel easy and familiar. Every cocktail has its own story, inspired by the places, people, and ideas behind it.

Socio is a welcoming space for relaxed nights, thoughtful conversations, and memorable moments. If you are going for a casual drink, a special celebration, our team is available to make you feel comfortable, valued, and inspired, one drink at a time. We reuse some oyster shells, avocado peels and seeds, coffee grounds, corn husks, banana peels, sourdough, and soy sauce to make flavourful drinks. Our environment is very comfortable and refreshing; you can celebrate nightlife events here.

Our Founders

We’re SOCiO – a Hong Kong bar founded by Amir Javaid, Max Bajracharya and Elton Sherchan built on the idea that good hospitality can also be
sustainable.

Amir, originally from Manchester, leads the bar’s creative direction and focus on upcycling ingredients from neighbouring restaurants into thoughtful cocktails. Max, a hospitality professional with over ten years of experience at venues such as Foxglove, the Artesian Bar at The Langham, and his own project Finding Daisy, brings structure and depth to the operation. Renowned as an award winning mixologist from Teeling Whisky and IHG international Group, Elton brings a wealth of experience and accolades to his role in the industry.

Together, we run SOCiO with a shared belief in community, craftsmanship, and responsibility – a neighbourhood bar that makes sustainability part of everyday service.

The Community & Our Drinks

SOCiO’s ethos revolves around fostering meaningful connections within the local F&B community and the community.

SOCiO is a community-focused bar concept which aims to highlight ingredients which are surplus within our industry reducing food waste.

The names of each drink showcase the ingredients we have upcycled from each venue, incorporating
fats, butter and acidity.

Our Drinks

SOCiO Facts (100 Cocktails/month)

Each month, we give new life to everyday ingredients that would otherwise go to waste — cold-infusing 3.8KG of Banana Peels, upcycling 1.6KG of Oyster Shells, and clarifying 800G of yoghurt for Milk. We churn leftover gelato, ferment rice, and even distill cheese to extract unexpected flavours. From 210G of Kimchi and 2.5 kg of Fries to 325G of Doughnuts and 1.6KG of Corn Husks, nothing goes unused. Pineapple Skins become bright ferments, Puff Pastry is baked and re-purposed, and tea leaves and apple skins are reborn as distillates — all tied together and transformed into something worth raising a glass to.
